MD Homebuyer Education Class

Interested in buying your first home in DC or Maryland?

This class is provided at the MD Office.

11002 Veirs Mill Road. Suite 503. Silver Spring, MD 20902. Wheaton Mall. Westfield South building.

Class duration: from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

In this workshop you will learn how to navigate the process of buying a house in DC and Maryland and how to get a good mortgage.

You will also learn how your credit history, personal budget, and personal finances could affect your future success. The Latino Center for Economic Development (LEDC),

invites different experts including a loan officer, home inspector, real estate agent, and insurance agent to explain the different areas within the home buying process.

Information is also provided on programs to assist homebuyers for the first time in MD and DC.

This class conforms to the requirements of lender and government programs that require training for homebuyers for the first time.

Light Breakfast and Lunch are offered in the class courtesy of the experts.

Price: $ 50 for one person or $ 75 for a couple. For customers using the My Home (MD) program, the program reimburses the cost of the class.

Scholarships are available to all HPAP customers. Some banks also offer scholarships. If you are working with a lender that requires homebuyer education

for the first time, it is likely that you do not have to pay for the class.

The individual counseling session with an LEDC Counselor, after this class, is offered free of charge.

The individual counseling session AFTER the class is a requirement to receive your homebuyer education certificate.

Build a Co-op, a free workshop by Inno.ED & LEDC

This workshop is for anyone who is building cooperative businesses and supporting cooperative businesses!

About this Event

DSLBD's Inno.ED has adapted the first module of the Build a Dream curriculum for entrepreneurs to support ideating cooperative business models of all kinds. Cooperatives are businesses too, with democratic ownership.

We are SO EXCITED to present this workshop with LEDC!

In this workshop we will think through cooperative business models and see how democratic ownership can apply to any and all business models.

¿Interesado en comprar su primera casa en Baltimore?

Esta clase se provee en Español en la Oficina de LEDC en Baltimore, MD. 

En este taller aprenderá como navegar el proceso de comprar una casa en Baltimore City y Baltimore County y como obtener una buena hipoteca. También aprenderá como su historial de crédito, presupuesto personal, y finanzas personales podrían afectar su éxito en el futuro. LEDC invita a diferentes expertos incluyendo un oficial de préstamo, inspector de vivienda, agente de bienes raíces, y agente de seguro para explicarle las diferentes áreas dentro del proceso de compra de casa. También se provee información sobre los programas para asistir compradores de casa por primera vez en MD. Se le dará información acerca del programa para comprar vivienda con ITIN.

Esta clase es conforme con los requisitos de los programas de prestamistas y el gobierno que requieren entrenamiento para compradores de casa por primera vez.

HPAP ORIENTATION: Introduction To First-Time Home Buying And The Programs That Can Help! (ENGLISH)

Interested in buying a home but don’t know if you can?

This orientation provides an introduction to the homebuying process and to DC and first time homebuyer assistance programs. In DC the Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP) provides up to $84,000 in down payment and closing costs assistance. Find out what you qualify for and learn about next steps in the homebuying process. Take this first step on the road to homeownership - free of charge.

**Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the class begins.  If you are 15 minutes late you will need to register for the next class.**
