LEDC is one of the leading economic development organizations focusing on Latinos and other communities of color in DC, MD, VA, and Puerto Rico.

Our lending program has provided more than $19 million in capital in the form of over 1,500 microloans in DC, MD, VA, and began operating in Puerto Rico in 2019. Our small business technical assistance program serves over 1,000 entrepreneurs per year. Our Empowered Women International (EWI) program brings together over 300 women per year to build their leadership skills, social capital and set them on track to become entrepreneurs.

Our affordable housing preservation program has served over 10,000 DC tenants and worked with over 275 DC tenant associations. Over the past two years, our collaboration with housing development consultants and associations led to the securing of over $200 million in both public and private investments to preserve over 2,100 housing units as affordable. Our housing counseling team served 3,494 DC, MD, and VA low to moderate income residents with financial capability, rental, and housing counseling services.

We are also working to ensure that vulnerable families and businesses impacted by COVID-19 gain access to the resources they need so they may remain in their homes, meet emergency financial needs, and/or keep their businesses afloat.

While we receive support from government, foundation, and corporate sources, it is not enough to sustain our work. We, therefore, rely on donations from generous people like you to support our efforts and clients.

Make a one-time financial gift to the Latino Economic Development Center to:

1) Help families build and preserve financial assets through homeownership and entrepreneurship;

2) Preserve affordable rental housing and promote responsible homeownership;

3) Increase the number of thriving and diverse small businesses; and

4) Empower low income residents to become civically engaged so they may create positive social change in their communities.

As LEDC is a 501(c)3 approved organization, your voluntary contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
