If you are struggling to make payments on your home, call LEDC at 202-540-7401 to speak with a housing counselor. You will have more options available to you, the sooner you come to LEDC for counseling.

What We Do

LEDC’s foreclosure housing counselors work closely with struggling homeowners to understand their financial situation and help them identify their best long-term solution through group seminars and one-on-one counseling sessions.

In many cases, housing counselors work with mortgage lenders and clients to qualify for loan modifications to reduce monthly mortgage payments through federal and state housing assistance programs. In other cases, housing counselors help clients to explore other options, including short sales.

Housing counselors have developed strong relationships with lenders in the area as well as state and federal agencies that administer housing assistance programs.
