LEDC's Down Payment Assistance Program

Homeownership is one of the keys to healthy neighborhoods. Working families deserve to live in their dream home, but too many are unable to turn those dreams into a reality.

LEDC’s Down Payment Assistance (DPA) Program offers homebuyer education, counseling, and $10,000 for down-payment or closing costs, supporting individuals and families in achieving homeownership and building long-term financial prosperity.

LEDC hopes to help individuals and families who can afford a monthly mortgage payment and bills but have not been able to save enough for a down payment and/or closing costs to buy their home.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The amount of assistance will be $10,000 for down-payment or closing costs.
  • First-Time Homebuyers only.
  • Attend LEDC’s Homebuyer Seminar and 1-on-1 Counseling.
  • Household income under 120% AMI.
  • Minimum $1,000 contribution.
  • Qualify for a mortgage.
  • Ratified sales contract in a “Sustainable Community” located in Montgomery or Prince George’s County.
  • Home inspection required.
  • Attend LEDC’s Post-Purchase 1-on-1 Counseling.
