Purple Line’s Small Business Advocacy Program

Purple Line’s Small Business Advocacy Program

Mission: Through the creation of a small business advocacy program, we aim to empower small business leaders to be able to make systemic change affecting their community by engaging with civic leaders. To enhance the retention and development of small businesses in the Purple Line Corridor by empowering them to thrive and contribute positively to the local economy. Upon completion of this program, small business leaders will be able to have the tools necessary to counteract gentrification caused by transit-oriented development.

Objective: To develop and educate small business leaders on skills that
serve as a “toolbox”. By serving as an educational and workshop hub, our aim is to provide small business owners with the knowledge they need to influence both small business and civic leaders. From power mapping to advocacy meetings and finding your ask, small business owners will learn skills that will allow them to amplify their voice and share powerful advocacy with elected officials and other governing bodies to achieve objectives of their community.
