Direct Community Investments Program Manager

Manuel was born in Lima, Perú and is currently a Direct Community Investments Program Manager. He joined the Direct Community Investments department at LEDC in 2021 and has served as a Direct Community Investments Clerk and Senior Program Associate. While at DCI, Manuel has worked on a wide range of projects encompassing housing assistance initiatives for residents in Baltimore County, MD, to pandemic-relief grants for local businesses across DC, MD, and VA.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia State University in Art History and a minor in Spanish Literature. Before moving to DC, Manuel also worked in Atlanta with various art organizations extending art education services to bridge the gap of minority inclusion in museums and creative spaces. Manuel is passionate about extending formative aid that crosses socioeconomic and cultural boundaries that empower marginalized communities. Most recently, prior to joining LEDC, he also supported projects related to the DC Housing Authority ensuring at-risk tenants continued receiving fair living conditions in the District. In his free time Manuel enjoys cycling, soccer, and learning about psychology.
