Elizabeth Abreu

Elizabeth Abreu is a Dominican-American born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She moved to Washington, D.C., to pursue her dream of becoming an Economist. Before joining LEDC as a Direct Community Investment Program Associate in November 2022, Elizabeth completed her Master's in Economics at Howard University. In her current role, she collaborates with team members working on government-based grants created to assist individuals affected by COVID-19. She helps her team by reviewing documentation provided by applicants, requesting edits when necessary, and supporting applicants throughout the application process. What drives her is acquiring the tools required to help individuals like herself, who grew up in low-income communities, emerge from poverty. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys biking, cooking, and painting.
