Development and Evaluation Manager

The Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) is seeking candidates for the position of Development Manager. This full-time position plays a key role in generating revenue to fund the effective implementation of LEDC’s programs. LEDC is in a growth trajectory given the economic development needs in the area.


Position Summary: The Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) is seeking candidates for the position of Development Manager. This full-time position plays a key role in generating revenue to fund the effective implementation of LEDC’s programs. LEDC is in a growth trajectory given the economic development needs in the area.

Qualified candidates must possess a diverse set of skills including excellent communication skills, grant writing, research/evaluation, and implementation of systems and processes. The Development Manager will support the Development Director in carrying out responsibilities related to Development, Communications, and Evaluation. The Development Manager will ensure that all development, evaluation, and communications processes are carried out in a timely and efficient manner in-house as Development Director carries out outwardly focused fundraising responsibilities and larger federal proposals.

 

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Development

  • Support the Development Director with grant writing and proposal submissions
  • Draft proposal task lists, track progress on proposals, ensure staff responsible for contributing to proposals contribute in a timely manner
  • Manage the grant reporting schedule in order to ensure timely submission of reports to LEDC’s government and private funders
  • Track program teams’ progress on goals across grant agreements with funders
  • Provide program teams and admin staff the necessary templates/information for them to draft reports to be reviewed by Development Director
  • Track donor and gift information
  • Ensure donor information is entered into pertinent communications lists
  • Support the development of donor and network analyses
  • Manage annual online fundraiser
  • Facilitate and track progress with the execution of contracts
  • Ensure electronic proposal and active grant files are up to date
  • Draft content for annual appeals
  • Draft content for stewardship with individual donors (thank you letters and eblasts)

Evaluation

  • Help hire evaluation interns and supervise them
  • Work with Development and Program Directors in the creation of surveys and data analysis plans
  • Help to build out evaluation specific software
  • Assist with the collection of data and data entry for program evaluations and service quality assessments
  • Develop necessary databases and assist with data entry, particularly when interns are not available
  • Work with Development Director to analyze data and draft findings

 

Communications

  • Help develop and ensure adherence to newsletter and annual report timelines/manage communications calendar
  • Assist with client interviews and development of questions for the production of communications content/products
  • Review and edit content developed by Communications Associate for newsletters and annual reports for final review by Development and/or Executive Directors
  • Ensure website content is up to date, accurate, and organized appropriately
  • Help to assess/analyze social media platforms and website activity
  • Assist with additional communications functions as required

 

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-starter, who sees opportunities for efficiency and takes the initiative to pursue them
  • Bachelor’s with two to three years of experience, or Master’s degree with one to two years of proposal writing or development experience
  • Strong technical skills including Qualitative and/or quantitative research skills
  • Experience developing/administering online surveys
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Publisher
  • Experience with communications software and/or platforms, preferred but not required
  • Experience with website management, preferred but not required
  • Experience/familiarity with economic development work and/or economic issues local to the Washington and Baltimore Metropolitan Area
  • Strong knowledge of and sensitivity to underserved communities
  • Available to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus, but not required

  • Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
