LEDC Officially Launches the Alumni & Champions Network

Washington, DC — The Latino Economic Development Center proudly announces the launch of its Alumni and Champions Network, a new initiative designed to reconnect and uplift the thousands of entrepreneurs, homeowners, and community members who have engaged with LEDC over the past 35 years.

Since its founding in 1991, LEDC has supported hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs, homeowners, and community members across the Greater Washington region. The Alumni and Champions Network builds on that legacy by creating a dynamic digital community where members can access resources, expand professional networks, and continue growing alongside a vibrant ecosystem of leaders and changemakers.

“For more than three decades, LEDC has walked alongside entrepreneurs, families, and community leaders as they built businesses, purchased homes, and strengthened neighborhoods across our region," said Nicole Durler-Montant, Chief Development & Communications Officer at LEDC. "The Alumni and Champions Network is about honoring that journey and ensuring those relationships continue to grow. By bringing our community together through this Network, we are creating a space where alumni can connect, share knowledge, and support one another as they continue building prosperity for themselves and their communities.”

The Network is currently launching in a pilot phase with LEDC Small Business Development and Lending clients. This focused first phase allows LEDC to refine the member experience and strengthen engagement among entrepreneurs who have accessed capital and technical assistance. Over time, the Network will expand to include participants from all LEDC programs, including housing counseling, financial capability, and community investment initiatives, creating a fully integrated community that reflects the full scope of LEDC impact.

At the heart of the Alumni and Champions Network is an interactive digital platform designed to foster year-round connection and collaboration. Members will gain access to exclusive networking opportunities including curated virtual meetups, peer roundtables, and small group discussions centered on real time business challenges and growth strategies. The Network will also host educational workshops led by subject matter experts covering capital readiness, marketing, procurement, financial management, and leadership development.

“Our goal is to create a living community where alumni can continue learning, mentoring, and collaborating long after their initial engagement with LEDC," stated Emi Reyes, Chief Executive Officer of LEDC. "When entrepreneurs and community members stay connected, the impact extends far beyond individual success stories, it strengthens the entire economic fabric of our region.”

In addition to virtual engagement, members will be invited to in person gatherings, community celebrations, and special events that spotlight alumni businesses and elevate leadership within the Network. Participants may grow into roles as mentors, ambassadors, contributors, and champions, strengthening collective visibility and long-term impact.

As LEDC celebrates 35 years of service, the launch of the Alumni and Champions Network reflects a renewed commitment to long term relationship building and sustained economic mobility across the region. Former clients, partners, and supporters are invited to learn more and join the Network at www.ledcmetro.org/network.  Interested individuals can submit a short application, and a member of the LEDC team will follow up with next steps.
