In celebration of Black History Month, Empowered Women International, a program of LEDC, is hosting a virtual panel event featuring local black women entrepreneurs. During this intimate, round table conversation these inspiring women will be discussing their experiences as entrepreneurs and honoring the black women (and men) that motivated them, taught them, and forged a path for their success!

LADON LOVE, Executive Director of SPACEs in Action/SIA & Entrepreneurship Trainer for EWI 

Executive Director of SPACEs In Action/SIA, LaDon has over two decades of experience in community, leadership, and organizational development. She is the Vice-Chair of the Algebra Project Board of Directors and a founding member of Community Voices Heard. LaDon is also a published photographer and a lead trainer for Empowered Women International's Entrepreneur Training for Success program. She has been honored with the Shirley Chisholm Leadership award and named Ms. Magazine Woman of the Year.

CHRISTI RICH, Founder of Christi Rich Event Strategy & Design and EWI Volunteer Mentor

Christi is an independent event strategist with wealth of domestic and international event management knowledge. She provides event planning, project management, creative event design, and execution for corporate and non-profit clients. Events planned by Christi have been featured in BizBash, Washington Life, Capitol File Magazine, Broad Run Magazine to name a few. Prior to going independent, Christi served as an in-house event planner for ExxonMobil, the Smithsonian Institution, and director of events at Georgetown University.

D. AMAADI COLEMAN, Founder of Fit Tribe Wellness and EWI Program Alumna

Amaadi is a mom to three sons, a NASM certified personal trainer, group exercise instructor, nutrition lifestylist, and holistic healing advocate. After naturally healing her own abdominal separation (diastasis), she became the first Black Tupler Technique® Trained Professional. Now, as the Belly Therapist™, she focuses on educating and supporting the natural healing of this condition among women postpartum. She also helps women celebrate their bodies while healing their bellies.

TAMARA COLE, Founder & Head Chef at Sincerely Wilma and EWI Program Alumna

After working as an executive assistant for various c-level executives for over twenty (20) years; and, as a yield manager for the past two (2) years, Tamara decided she wanted to take on a new venture providing quality food to broaden her community’s concept of pancakes and waffles. Using a recipe she inherited from her grandmother, she began selling it premixed and frozen. She used her baking skills to modify the same recipe to create several other non-traditional batter flavors. Building off of her administrative and marketing skills, she developed an e-commerce site to gain experiences and valuable feedback from small groups of customers. After two (2) years of local sales, she planning to expand her products regionally.
