Entrepreneur Training for Success (ETS)

New Date! Classes start on April 27th for MoCo Residents.

What is ETS?

Entrepreneur Training for Success (ETS) is a 3 month intensive course in business, workforce, life and leadership skills.
Taught over 60 hours, ETS strongly emphasizing the fundamentals of micro-entrepreneurship, combined with the basics of financial literacy. 
Each week you will learn key skills that can transform your idea into a business, including:
  • Leadership
  • Time Management
  • Marketing & Branding
  • Business Finance
  • Networking
  • and much more!
You will work alongside a group of trainers, volunteer mentors and women in creating a comprehensive business plan. Upon completion of the ETS course, you will present your vetted business plan at a business pitch event, where you will receive feedback from a panel of expert business judges.

Who is ETS for?

Women who...
  • have a business idea and want to get guidance & support around being an Entrepreneur.
  • are looking to start a business but don't know where to start.
  • who have an informal business and would like to take the next step to formalize. 

Rockville class starts on Monday, April 27th at 6:30pm 

(The classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30pm to 9:00pm)

HERSummit 2020: Celebrating the Woman Entrepreneur

HERSummit : Celebrating the Womenpreneur is an event enthusiastically and lovingly crafted by people who are eager to uplift local women business owners. Through a partnership between Empowered Women International (LEDC), the Women’s Business Center, and Think Local First DC, we are excited to invite you to this accessible, and empowering event.

For our first ever event we hope to do the following...

- Inspire participants through Dynamic HerStory’s of diverse panelists and moderators

- Have tangible physical resources for participants

- Invite women business owners and hold a “bold / brave space” to talk about realities of being a woman and a business owner

- Opportunity to network with other women businesses

- Recognize businesses for positively transforming neighborhoods

The event will consist of a Table Talk, a Panel on Wellness for the Womenpreneur, and Panel on Political Advocacy for the Womenpreneur and a Happy Hour sponsored by DC Brau Brewing Co , featuring their beer and seltzer. Although we celebrate women business owners and are creating a safe space for them network and talk about issues that affect them- allies are welcome to attend.
