In solidarity with immigrant families calling for comprehensive immigration reform, LEDC will participate in the April 10th Citizenship Now rally at the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
Joining tens of thousands of immigrants, supporters, faith and community leaders, LEDC believes that immigrant business owners and families make valuable economic and social contributions to the DC area and deserve a path to citizenship. Many start and expand small businesses, buy homes, and work with their neighbors to keep their rental housing affordable - strengthening and preserving economically diverse communities.
LEDC will join a host of community-based organizations serving immigrants in the DC area to show support for the passage of comprehensive immigration reform in 2013.
“Our region represents the vibrancy and benefit of diverse and high levels of immigration,” said LEDC Executive Director Manny Hidalgo. “Immigrants motor our regional and national economy forward and strengthen the fabric of our communities.”
