Equipping Latinos and other DC-area residents with the skills and financial tools to create a better future for their families and communities.

LEDC has embarked on a new strategic initiative to make financial education a key integrated component of its comprehensive approach to community-based economic development.
Through unique partnerships, LEDC has participated in innovative programs providing basic financial education. These projects have helped participants learn about their credit, budgeting, and setting financial goals. LEDC staff offer credit building seminars and have increased client access to safe financial products including secured credit cards. Staff builds ongoing relationships with participants over time to track their progress, working on credit assessment as well as financial action plans to help clients reach their financial goals.
While hundreds of participants have attended LEDC’s credit workshops, LEDC has connected more than 45 aspiring small business owners with a secured credit card product to strengthen their credit.
