If you are struggling to make payments on your home, call LEDC and ask to speak with a Housing Counselor at 202-540-7401. The sooner your family in financial crisis comes to LEDC for counseling, the greater the options that are available to you.

What We Do

LEDC foreclosure housing counselors work closely with struggling homeowners to understand their financial situation and help them identify their best long-term housing solution through group seminars and one-on-one counseling sessions.

In many cases, housing counselors work with mortgage lenders and clients to qualify for loan modifications to reduce monthly mortgage payments through federal and state housing assistance programs. In other cases, housing counselors help clients to explore other options, including short sales.

Housing counselors have developed strong relationships with lenders in the area as well as state and federal agencies that administer housing assistance programs.
