DC's Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP)

LEDC connects clients with the best financial assistance programs available for first-time home buyers. Step by step, LEDC housing counselors help prospective buyers apply to the DC government's Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP), which enables low to moderate-income families to purchase a house in the District of Columbia. The HPAP program is a financial assistance program initiative through DC's Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).

Qualified applicants receive no-interest loans for down payment and closing costs to purchase single-family houses, condominiums, or cooperative units.

Why is HPAP the best program in Washington, DC for first time home buyers?
-It requires only a $500 upfront investment.
-You pay 0% interest on loans of up to $40,000.
-No application fee is required.
-Payments are deferred for five years
