
A new study released by the University of Maryland, "It's Not Easy Being Green - Greening Wheaton: Opportunities for Water and Waste Conversation" highlights LEDC's work with local businesses in Wheaton.
The research project, designed to provide the Wheaton Sustainability Committee with recommendations for methods to achieve a greener Wheaton community, highlights the Local First Wheaton program and its efforts to encourage businesses to use environmentally friendly practices to lower business costs while improving the community. The report also profiles a new clean energy buying program created by Local First Wheaton and Local First DC designed to allow businesses to collectively purchase clean energy for lower costs.
