Dear Friends,
2022 was a significant year for the Latino Economic Development Center as we battled through the lingering effects of a global pandemic while managing the incredible internal and external growth of our organization. As we emerge from the pandemic with renewed strength and unwavering commitment, we are delighted to showcase the continued expansion of our organization. In the past fiscal year alone, we welcomed over 30 new team members who have bolstered our capabilities to go above and beyond for our community.
Furthermore, our accomplishments in 2022 were underscored by new initiatives aimed at expanding our reach in the DMV area and Puerto Rico. In the early part of the year, we successfully launched POWER, a program designed promote and empower women entrepreneurs in Baltimore, MD. Simultaneously, we were selected as one of the main organizations participating in the PULSO program of the Foundation for Puerto Rico—a program aimed at bolstering the small businesses in the northern region of the island.
When looking back on the problems and difficulties we have faced over the past three years, it is clear that despite the hardships, a tremendous opportunity has presented itself to us. We have been forced to reconsider our strategies, reevaluate our objectives, and ultimately reset our course towards a different future. We want to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Board, all of the supporters, partners, and funders who make it possible for us to have this impact on our communities. Their firm commitment and belief in our mission has been crucial in developing and enabling us to have a long-lasting effect on the lives of thousands of individuals in the DMV and Puerto Rico regions.

The remarkable and dedicated team at LEDC persisted throughout this difficult period, demonstrating the unwavering commitment to our mission. Our ability to navigate the trying circumstances we have encountered has been greatly assisted by the team's firm determination, resiliency, and pioneering mentality. The foundation for a better future, one that promises to uplift and empower the underserved members of our communities, is the result of our unrelenting efforts, often going above and beyond the call of duty.
We are certain that we can overcome all the numerous obstacles that lie ahead thanks to the constant support of our community of supporters. We'll keep working together to pursue economic empowerment, social justice, and equity. We can build a future where everyone has access to opportunities, where no one is left behind, and where our communities are thriving by working together.
